The Orioles obligingly take one on the chin for the Red Sox, 9-2 at Fenway. Finally, finally, finally. Does it solve every problem? Absolutely not. However, has it helped me stop gnawing on myself?
Totally.
As has the fact that the Yankees lost to the Angels.
Oh, and the Patriots lost 26-23 to the Falcons.
The Patriots. Remember them?
P.S. How bout that Mike Lowell, eh? I only sorta watched the game last night and I believe I missed his heroics completely. But Sam has the necessary description and MLB.com has the necessary video in case you missed it, too.
Note also that in the MLB video of Lowell's dive into the stands, one of the kids who has his beer spilled in the process, right in the front row of that field box section at Fenway park, is wearing a Yankees hat. I went back and checked--it's not a Yankee Hater hat, it's a genuine standard-issue "NY" cap. I guarantee you as soon as he and his buddies helped Lowell back out of the stands, he started expounding to anyone who'd listen about Jeter.
P.P.S. Just to make up for that last link, here's Tommy's Wiki.
from the wiki:
//Brady had a cameo appearance in the movie Stuck on You (2003) as a computer nerd. //
is... this... true?

I saw that Yankee hat as well and had to double-check too. I mean, WTF? Nice to see he lost his beer in all that, though.

Red, of course! You haven't seen it?

Good call - he actually did....he's mentioned in today's Globe. (Hard to tell from the article, but he actually doesn't seem like a total jerk.)

//``Jeter's was better, way better," Armstrong said, to which a nearby fan, overhearing him, yelled, ``Yeah, well, Jeter didn't get hit in the head five minutes before."//
that makes the whole thing a little more interesting, doesn't it? good call by the globe to get the kid's name and comments.
