Yes, the Yankees get the win, from the bat of Jeter. For Pete's sake, why is it that every single damn time I see Jeter drive in a run (especially game winners), it's some cheap little dinky bloop piece of crap? Can't he ever hit the ball hard to win the game? Seeing those excuse-me squibbers of his constantly winning ballgames is like salt in the wound.

You summed up my feelings perfectly, maxwell.

It's so frustrating how bad this team is with situational hitting. Like when Lugo led off with a double, then Youkilis lined out and Ortiz and Manny both K'd. It seriously feels like our 3-4 combo has been killing us much more than it should...Manny's grounded into 19 (!) double plays this year after hitting into 13 all of last season. It's painful to watch those guys not hit like they did in 03-06.

Offensive issues aside, I really enjoyed Wakefield's gem. There's little else I find more amusing than batters flailing helplessly at 60 MPH pitches.

it seems like if you could put together the yankees offense this year with this year's red sox pitching, that team would never lose a game.
