« Baserunning like Benny Hill | Main | I am now meditating on the concept of Jake Gyllenhaal in a Patriots T-shirt »

The ninth inning was absolutely worth staying up for (I'd promised myself I'd go to bed by 11 no matter what, but apparently I am really bad at keeping my promises). The offensive comeback combined with the miracle of a strikeout plus gorgeous 5-2-3 DP when the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 9th of a tie game seemed to spell sure (and immediate) loss? Fantastic.

I'm kind of glad I gave up and went to bed before the walkoff, though.

I completely agree with the previous comment; the top of the 9th was worth staying up for (though I too succumbed prior to the 11th). So well played--and managed. Tek pinch hit and singled, scoring Ortiz; then Crisp ran for him, stole 2nd, and scored on Wily Mo's single.

While they lost, I think they held their own amazingly well after a grueling 4hr game and coast-to-coast overnight flight, opposing a hot pitcher with many regulars on the bench and the 5th starter on the mound.

I'm choosing to be optimistic this week!

Showing the game the next night at 7pm is a good idea. But I'm liking this 1991 game too. The solution is probably NESN2.
